TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A judge in Tulsa has refused to dismiss some of the charges against a woman who allegedly slashed the corpse of her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend.
The judge on Friday rejected a defense motion to dismiss charges of unlawful removal of a body part and burglary against 27-year-o;d Shaynna Sims. The judge also refused to suppress evidence and to quash Sims' arrest.
Prosecutors say Sims removed the dead woman's breasts, a toe and locks of her hair and cut the woman's forehead as the body lay in a casket at a Tulsa funeral home on April 30, 2015. Sims also allegedly stole the woman's shoes and broke into her home.
Sims has pleaded not guilty.
Defense attorney Chad Greer said the motions will be brought up again during trial.
