MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A Jackson County jury has found a father guilty of asking someone to beat up his baby sitter after she made comments that caused him to temporarily lose custody of his child.
The Medford Mail Tribune reports (http://is.gd/V8qmVr ) that 31-year-old Corey Fenton was found guilty Wednesday of soliciting fourth-degree assault and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree assault.
Prosecutors say Fenton and his father, Luther Paul Bann, met with a female friend in 2012 and offered her marijuana worth $3,000 to $5,000 as partial payment to find someone to beat up the baby sitter. The woman told authorities the men said they wanted the sitter beaten so badly she would never talk again.
Fenton is scheduled to be sentenced Monday.
Gann pleaded no contest Wednesday to solicitation of assault, among other charges.
