MESHOPPEN, Pa. (AP) -- The body of a New York man who disappeared in March has been found in the Susquehanna River in northeastern Pennsylvania. The Wyoming County coroner's office says the body was identified Friday as 43-year-old Thomas Christopher Yates, of Bellmore, New York. Yates' body had been found Thursday near Meshoppen. Yates had disappeared March 30 upriver in Laceyville. The Times-Tribune of Scranton reports Yates' death is under investigation by state police. Authorities say his older brother assaulted Yates' twin brother the same morning Yates disappeared. Officials say Yates was walking toward a bridge over the river at the time of the alleged assault, and both siblings noticed he was missing a short time later. The brothers had come from a funeral.
