HONEY BROOK, Pa. (AP) -- Police say a southeastern Pennsylvania man protecting his sister was shot by a gunman who then committed suicide.
Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan says the shooting took place around 1:30 a.m. outside a home in Honey Brook.
Police say 29-year-old Dustin Scott Hoffman of Reading showed up at the home of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, demanding the woman come outside to talk to him.
Police say the woman's brother showed up and confronted Hoffman. They say the suspect then pulled a gun and shot him before turning it on himself.
The Daily Local News of West Chester (http://bit.ly/1nEOsxP ) reports the shooting victim's name was withheld by police. He was listed in stable condition at Reading Hospital.
