PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland residents looking skyward might spot a surprising replacement for the sneakers sometimes seen hanging from power lines: suspended sex toys.
The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/1e0Bcmg ) that dangling dildos have been documented in north, northeast and southeast Portland. Images have circulated on social media, with some posters claiming there are hundreds of the hanging objects and others saying the tally is in the dozens.
City and county information center employee Susan Barr says the Portland Office of Neighborhood Involvement has received fewer than 10 calls in three weeks about the dildos.
Power companies like Comcast and Portland General Electric have received calls about the toys. Pacific Power spokesman Tom Gauntt says dildos are as much of a safety hazard as shoes, kites, balloons and other items found tangled in the lines.
