Check your tickets: Local store sold $2 million Powerball stub

CATAWISSA — Someone in the area is a whole lot richer this morning.

Pennsylvania Lottery officials report that Fresh & Quick, on Main Street in Catawissa, sold a Powerball ticket that matched all five of the white balls drawn Wednesday night — 06-07-16-23-26 — and was purchased with an option that boosted the worth of the ticket from $1 million to $2 million. It was the largest prize won in the state of Pennsylvania.

But Lottery officials say the $2 million ticket wasn't the only winner in our area: the Giant Food Store in Berwick also sold a ticket that matched four of the white balls and included an option that made it worth $200,000.

The jackpot-winning ticket was sold out of state — in Chicopee, Massachusetts. That ticket matched the five white balls and the red Powerball, 04.  That ticket won a jackpot with a final annuity value of $758.7 million, or a cash prize of $480.5 million, Pennsylvania Lottery officials say.

We have a reporter on the story and will have more information as its available.
