NESCOPECK — Some PPL customers who went through a power outage on Monday may see power off again today as PPL does repairs to a power line, the company said.

Today's repairs include pulling a new 2,100-foot power line across the Susquehanna using a helicopter and drones. While the work occurs, service to about 1,700 customers will be cut for safety reasons, PPL said.

The power line across the Susquehanna broke around 1:15 p.m. Monday, the company said. About 2,500 customers were initially affected, and PPL crews worked through the night to restore power, a press release stated. Early Tuesday, about 75 non-residential customers remained without power.

The company said it expected the repair outage will "start around midday. We are working as quickly and as safely as possible to restore service. This is an unusual set of circumstances and we are reaching out to affected customers."
