BEAVER TWP. — A farmer’s field was rigged with tire chains and a massive steel bolt in what appears to be a “cowardly” act of sabotage, Bloomsburg State Police say.

Randy Rhoads was harvesting corn in a field at 149 Scotch Valley Drive Monday afternoon when he heard several loud bangs. He climbed off the corn harvester and discovered three foot-long lengths of tire chains, with broken zip ties still attached, under the machine.

Rhoads did a search of the area and discovered a 2-pound steel bolt attached to an ear of corn.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call Tpr. Ziller at 570-387-4261.
