Local animal advocate takes on GoDaddy, wins

BERWICK -- A Super Bowl commercial featuring a homeless pooch won't be aired during the big game thanks to Helena Yurcho, a Berwick animal advocate with ties to nationwide rescue organizations. Yurcho launched a petition to pull the GoDaddy spot Tuesday morning because she says the ad promoted puppy mills and the online sale of animals. Within eight hours the petition had more than 42,000 signatures, and the web company had issued a statement that it intended to yank the promo Sunday. We'll have more on this story as it develops.
